Entrance

The entrance hall (with ticket office and museum shop) can be reached barrier-free via a separate entrance door in the inner courtyard.

Interior
  • 1st and 2nd floor (including the Imperial Hall) accessible via lift (length: 135 cm x width: 100 cm, door width: 79.5 cm)

Disabled parking

Disabled parking spaces you can find on Domplatz (distance c. 100 m). Further information on parking facilities can be found on the website of the city of Bamberg.

 

Disabled toilets

You will find a disabled toilet in the New Residence in the ticket office area and another in the courtyard of the Old Court on the opposite side of the "Domplatz".

Information for the visually impaired

  • No guidance system for the visually impaired available

  • No audio guide available

  • Regular guided tours in the New Residence

  • A tactile model enables also visually impaired people to get an overview of the historical buildings on the Domberg, such as the Bamberg Cathedral, the Old Court and the New Residence with the Rose Garden.

    The model on the Domberg is designed to be visually impaired-friendly, made of bronze on a scale of 1:200 and equipped with Braille.
